Scholarships

Faculty of Arts Entrance Scholarship for Bachelor of Arts Programmes

​

Faculty of Arts Entrance Scholarship for Bachelor of Arts Programmes, awarded by the Faculty of Arts of HKU, is offered to students who are admitted to JS6054 Bachelor of Arts or JS6286 Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Digital Humanities based on the merits of distinguished 2024 HKDSE results. The amount of the scholarship award ranges from full tuition fee (HK$42,100) for the first year of study to full tuition fees for all 4 years (HK$168,400).​​​

Academy for Young Global Arts Leaders*

(for international students)​

Selected students will be awarded scholarships and will have access to exclusive training opportunities. They will also serve as ambassadors, highlighting the excellence and influence of our Arts programmes throughout their years of study.​​​

To honor and support our outstanding international applicants admitted in the following programmes:

  • Bachelor of Arts - BA

    • majoring in Global and Area Studies

    • majoring in Global Creative Industries

  • Bachelor of Arts in Global Creative Industries - BA(GCIN)*

  • Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Digital Technologies - BA(HDT)

  • Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Engineering in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (Double Degree) - BA&BEng(AI&DataSc)*

 

Selected students will be awarded scholarships and will have access to exclusive training opportunities.  They will also serve as ambassadors, highlighting the excellence and influence of our Arts programmes throughout their years of study.

HKU Arts Elite Scheme for Outstanding HKDSE Students

(JS6054 BA)

The Elite Scheme is available for students who have achieved excellent results in HKDSE.

​

The HKU Arts Elite Scheme for Outstanding HKDSE Students (JS6054 BA) is available for students who have achieved excellent results in HKDSE. Selected students will enjoy the following privileges including but not limited to:

  • Enhanced faculty mentoring for intended major

    • Art History

    • Chinese Language and Literature

    • Chinese History and Culture

    • Global and Area Studies

    • History

    • Translation

    • Japanese Studies

    • Korean Studies

  • Additional Faculty Global Exploration Fund

  • Priority access to HKU Arts Internship opportunities and career workshops

  • Priority access to out of classroom activities including study abroad opportunities

Music Scholarship Scheme

​

The Music Scholarship Scheme provides an exclusive opportunity for outstanding Bachelor of Arts students whose pre-university experience includes a significant commitment to the pursuit of music excellence as well as to their formal academic studies. JUPAS, non-JUPAS applicants and candidates of the School Nominations Direct Admission Scheme (SNDAS) are eligible to apply for the scheme.

Applicants who are offered a place in JS6054 Bachelor of Arts through the Music Scholarship Scheme must major in Music. They may also, like all other Arts students, choose to pursue a double major, or up to two minors. For applicants admitted to JS6286 Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Digital Humanities, Music must be chosen as their designated Humanities Focus or second major.​​

Young Global Leader Award

​

An annual HK$10,000 will be granted to selected Bachelor of Arts Students who intend to major in Global and Area Studies and demonstrate outstanding academic performance.

​

Young Global Leaders will receive an annual HK$10,000 scholarship and enjoy customized access to:

  • Small-group discussions with faculty and mentoring by professors

  • Faculty Global Exploration Fund up to HK$30,000

  • Study abroad opportunities—student exchange & overseas programmes in world-class universities

  • HKU Arts internship opportunities & career preparation workshops

Scholarship for Prospective English Teachers

​

The Scholarship for Prospective English Teachers (the Scholarship) is set up by the Education Bureau, the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region as one of a series of measures to enhance the professionalism of English teachers in Hong Kong. The aim of the Scholarship is to attract persons proficient in English to pursue relevant local bachelor degree programmes and/ or teacher training programmes which will qualify them to become English teachers on graduation.
